Special Projects
"East Hants is highly marketable as a tourism destination, with particular potential in the ecotour and heritage niches. Developing this potential would create employment and improve local infrastructure, and can be managed without negative effect on the local social and physical environment."
Calender Fund RaiserIn 2001 the Community Birthday Calender program was taken over by the Kennetcook District Elementary School playground group. This is a dedicated group of parents who are raising funds to replace the playground equipment at the elementary school. They canvass the community and surrounding area in the fall and usually sell 150-200 calendars. Each person who buys a calendar can list family and friends - birthdays, anniversaries, and memorials so everyone knows the dates. A picture associated with the community is also added as a keepsake.
